Pitch-in is the largest environmental improvement campaign in Canada. It is a partnership between municipalities, the media, industry and the public. In total, over a million Canadians participate in the program annually cleaning up over five million pounds of litter. Take part in Pitch-in Week from April 22 to 28 by registering a clean-up in your neighbourhood. Thank you for giving back and helping keep our community clean!
Pitch-in Week Registration Form
Get involved
- complete the Pitch-in Week Registration form to register your family, organization, or group
- pick up your supplies (blue waste bags and gloves) at our Administration Office located at 1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- ensure all bags are safely placed away from the side of the road and ready for pick up on Monday, April 29
Please note we will only pick up blue waste bags as supplied by the Township.
Safety tips
While undertaking your cleanup always be mindful of sharp and heavy objects.
Before you begin
- assess the area and look out for hazards and possible dangers
- be prepared and bring proper safety equipment and tools
- be sure to have enough supervisors in your group
- register to participate
During your cleanup
- supervise participants closely and don't let children go off alone
- don't pick up dangerous items
- watch for cars and be careful near roads
- wear gloves or use a litter picker
- wash or sanitize your hands regularly

Corporate Services Committee
The Corporate Services Committee for the Township of Severn is a committee of all members of Council. Their mandate is to deal with general municipal business and provide recommendations to Council.
Meetings
Committee meetings are held in-person on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Members of the public are welcome to attend in-person (1024 Hurlwood Lane). The meetings can also be watched via our live stream or on our YouTube channel. Review the Corporate Services Committee meeting minutes to stay informed.
If you'd like to speak before a committee meeting, you'll need to make a delegation request.

Attend the open house
All are welcome to attend. This is a drop-in event and registration is not required.
Date: Wednesday , April 24, 2024
Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location: Rawley Resort, Spa, and Marina (Rivers End Room), 2900 Kellys Road, Severn
The project team will answer questions from attendees and share some high-level results from the data collection phase.
6:00 PM | 11 Michael Anne Drive, Coldwater
Township of Severn and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are working together to host two Town Halls in April. These in-person events have been organized to offer the Severn community an opportunity to speak to the OPP about their concerns.
The Town Halls will each start with a presentation by the OPP at 6:00 p.m. that will provide information related to:
- how residents can report an issue or concern to the OPP (non-emergency, emergency, and online options)
- speeding
- heavy truck traffic
The OPP will also respond to general enforcement questions.
Staff from the Township of Severn will also be in attendance to speak to what their role is and clarify the issues the Township enforces versus those enforced by the OPP.
The Town Halls are drop-in, and registration is not required.
The Town Halls have been scheduled for:
- Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Washago Community Centre (4361 Hamilton Street, Washago)
- Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Coldwater Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive, Coldwater)
