The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, in partnership with the City of Orillia and the Townships of Oro-Medonte, Severn, Ramara and Springwater will be hosting free information sessions for potential candidates interested in running in the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election and those interested in registering as a Third-Party Advertiser.

Topics to be covered include: roles and responsibilities of elected officials and third-party advertisers, eligibility rules, nomination process, campaign finances, compliance audit, voters’ list, and key dates.

The next Municipal and School Board Election will be held Monday, October 24, 2022. Candidates will be able to file nomination papers with the Clerk of their municipality starting Monday, May 2, 2022 up to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022.
